Irregular 24-hedron (icositetrahedron)was parametricaly designed as a think tank project without knowing any practical usage. After couple of months I was involved in workshop in ironworks - Železárny Štěpánov. After exploring production process I was able to change parameters to make design producible. I've played with proportions, number of facets, thickness and dimensions of whole object. Harder task was to prepare casting forms for every single part as each one is unique. They were made manualy. Each part consist of 4 to 6 straight segment with fillet connections. Cast-iron parts inherited inaccuracy of casting forms (made in a hurry) so there were loads of grinding to fit all parts together. Parts are screwed together in a way that screw heads don't stand out.
